The Zilker Neighborhood Association (ZNA) was established with the mission of protecting the character of our neighborhood and enhancing the quality of life for all of our residents. ZNA is a volunteer organization that works to ensure appropriate code enforcement, resolve traffic safety issues, maintain our historic and cultural resources, protect our environment and ensure that our neighborhood’s interests are heard at City Hall.
Zilker Park Vision Plan -- The Zilker Park master plan process is proceeding. Community Survey #5 is now concluded. More information with relevant documents including ZNA comments and positions as well as related links can be found here. (updated 04 May 2022)
Dougherty Art Center (DAC) Hearings -- The Parks and Recreation Department has submitted a site plan to the Development Services Department for the relocation of the DAC to Butler Shores. Click here for more details. (updated 17 May 2022)
South Lamar Corridor Improvements -- The Site Plan for Phase 1 (Riverside to Barton Springs) has been approved. The Site Plan Permitting for Phase 2 (Barton Springs to U.S. 290) is underway. Construction on Phase 1 is getting close to starting. See the latest information here.
Brodie Oaks Development -- A major development at the Brodie Oaks Shopping Center is planned. Although it is not within the boundaries of ZNA, it is of concern to the Zilker Neighborhood because it will impact traffic on South Lamar Blvd and will potentially impact the environment and water quality of Barton Creek. City Council Redistricting -- The City has changed the City Council District boundaries to reflect the 2020 census. It was certified on 27 Oct 2021. The portion of the ZNA area now represented by District 5 (currently Councilmember Ann Kitchen) has been transferred into District 9 (currently Councilmember Kathy Tovo).
