Zilker Metropolitan Park Vision Plan
This page is dedicated to following the process and development of a master plan for Zilker Metropolitan Park, termed the "Zilker Metropolitan Park Vision Plan" by the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department (PARD). Upcoming Community Meeting #5. On Wednesday, December 7, the City will host a virtual meeting and record it to be posted online afterward (Zoom Registration for the Virtual Meeting). On Saturday, December 10, the City will host an in-person open house meeting at McBeth Recreation Center in Zilker Park. During each meeting, we will present the draft vision plan in detail, highlighting each section of the park and noting how previous community input contributed to the plan. Both meetings will have opportunities for questions and comments. Additional information is below.

b | The Zilker Park Working Group (ZPWG) was a group of stakeholders formed as a result of the plan to use the Stratford Drive/Bulter Landfill area for ACL staging and parking. The stakeholders included vendors/organizations that operate businesses/activities in Zilker Park as well as those that simply visit and use Zilker Park as a park. Professional Services Agreement
On August 27, 2020, the City of Austin City Council authorized negotiation and execution of a professional services agreement with Design Workshop, Inc. (staff recommendation) or one of the other qualified responders for Request for Qualifications Solicitation No. CLMP295A, to provide master planning services for the Zilker Metropolitan Park Master Plan Reissue in an amount not to exceed $600,000. The City of Austin was able to execute a professional services agreement with Design Workshop.
