Project Connect (the future)
Project Connect is CapMetro's plan to provide a complete system of reliable and frequent transit with congestion-proof services that operates free from other traffic. It includes several components:
- Commuter Rail (aka MetroRail)
- High Capacity Rapid Transit (dedicated pathways)
- Bus Rapid Transit Light (transit priority treatment, aka MetroRapid)
- Local Routes (normal bus service, aka MetroBus)
- Neighborhood Circulators
- Express Routes (serving suburban Austin and neighboring communities, aka MetroExpress)
A vision of this plan is represented in this map (PDF).
