General Architecture

The Zilker Neighborhood has a unique mix of architecture styles and sizes. Age of houses ranges from the 19th Century to the present. Almost all of the commercial buildings are found on South Lamar Blvd and the iconic "Restaurant Row" section of Barton Springs Road. These two streets are rapidly changing with addition of condo and apartment buildings. The interior housing stock is rapidly transforming, also, as Zilker's desirable location is a factor in the rising price of real estate. Many old, small houses are either being renovated or replaced.
