The erosion controls along Hether St are not being maintained and most of the ones along Oxford Ave are missing or unmaintained. The City had issued a verbal warning three or four days earlier, apparently to no avail.

Event 4 - 20 May 2016 (inadequate erosion controls)

A straw waddle has been placed across the driveway but no other erosion controls exist elsewhere between the property and the street. The straw waddle has not been installed in accordance with typical standards and specifications. Although the City does not have standards and specifications for straw wattles, typical standards for straw wattles by manufacturers and other government regulators call for them to be installed in a shallow trench and staked, or weighted across paved surfaces. The City indicated that they found no issues with this site when they visited on May 5, 2016. It is not clear how the City reached the conclusion that there are no issues at this site. Reported again to the City on May 22, 2016.
