Erosion Control Issues at at 1310 Juliet Street, Austin, Texas

  Event 1 - 15 Sep 2016 (no erosion controls)

This site at 1310 Juliet is located on the northeast corner of Juliet and Josephine. An old City storm sewer line that ran diagonally across the lot is being replaced with one that runs around the perimeter of the lot. It is not clear who is responsible for this construction, the property owner or the City itself.

Event 1 - 15 Sep 2016 (no erosion controls)

The construction operator put up a silt fence around the perimeter of the site to prevent runoff to the street but did nothing to protect erosion into the open holes where the eventual manholes are going to go. Runoff from the entire lot funnels to one of the two corners and directly into the storm sewer line and thence to Bouldin Creek. This site has been like this for several weeks. It is not clear what is preventing completion, but every time it rains, the sediment from the lot goes directly to Bouldin Creek. Reported to the City on September 15 and September 19, 2016.
