Erosion Control Issues at Multiple Sites (Thursday, December 31, 2020)

The following photos from 18 sites taken on Decemeber 31, 2020. All but one of the sites are in the Zilker neighborhood. That one is in the Barton Hills neighborhood. Photo 1 - Mulch socks to not meet installation specifications and one is deteriorating to the point of becoming a pollution problem itself.

Photo 2 - Inadequate erosion controls. Mulch is not an approved for erosion control and flattened mulch socks provide almost no control.

2001 Peach Tree (in the Barton Springs Zone)


Photo 1 - Silt fence has been rolled back so there are no longer any erosion controls.

Photo 2 - Inadequate erosion controls and the ones present not properly installed.

Photo 3 - Privacy fence hides the fact that there are no erosion controls behind it.

Photo 4 - Gap in silt fence.

2107 Peach Tree (in the Barton Springs Zone)


Photo 1 - Inadequate erosion controls. Mulch is not an approved for erosion control. Silt fence has no j-hook.

Photo 1 - Inadeqate erosion controls. Runoff will just go around the ends of mulch sock.

Photo 2 - Muddy runoff streaming off site and running between the two houses, emptying directly over the top of the storm sewer and into the storm inlet.
